What is SEO Optimization and Why Does Your Website Need it?

Search engine optimization, commonly referred to as SEO, is the process of optimizing a website to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) by using relevant keywords and phrases. In today’s digital age, having a well-optimized website is crucial for businesses of all sizes to succeed online. Splendor has more than two decades of experience in SEO and has helped numerous businesses achieve their online goals. In this blog, we’ll discuss the primary components of a well-optimized web page and why they’re important for SEO.

Meta Title: The meta title is the title of the web page that appears in the SERPs. It’s important to include your primary keyword in the meta title and keep it within 60 characters.

Meta Description: The meta description is a brief summary of the content on the web page that appears in the SERPs. It’s important to include your primary keyword in the meta description and keep it within 160 characters.

H1 Headers: The H1 header is the main heading on the web page. Be sure to include your primary keyword in the H1 header and keep it within 70 characters.

H2 Headers: H2 headers are subheadings that break up the content on the web page. Include your secondary keywords in the H2 headers and keep them within 50-60 characters.

Keywords in Content: It’s important to include your primary and secondary keywords naturally throughout the content on the web page.

Keywords in URL: Include your primary keyword in the URL of the web page to help it rank higher in the SERPs.

Keywords in Image Alt Tags: Alt tags are used to describe images to search engines. Include your primary keyword in the alt tags of the images to help rank higher in search results.

Search Engine Results Positioning: The higher your web page ranks in the SERPs, the more likely the users are to click on it.

Search Terms that Users May Type In: It’s critical to research and target relevant keywords and phrases that users may type into search engines when looking for products or services similar to yours.

Optimizing your website is crucial for online success. By including the primary components listed above and targeting relevant keywords and phrases, you can increase your search engine rankings and drive more traffic to your website.

Search engine optimization requires a sophisticated ensemble of factors, each of which have a significant and shifting impact on how search engines view and rank your web pages.

The interactive tool below displays a well-optimized page – and shows you three different views: the “Code View,” that shows you what the search engines see, the “Browser View,” simply the page as seen in a typical web browser, and the “Results View,” which displays you how the well-optimized page may appear in the search engine results.
