“Fortune 500” Results for a Leading Marine Construction Contractor

Caldwell Marine International (“CMI”), one of the leading marine construction companies specializing in submarine utility operations, won a bid for a $2.5 billion project to install underwater power cables on the Cape Wind Offshore project off the coast of Massachusetts.

NJ-based CMI has successfully built and rehabilitated many piers and docks, as well as installed many unique marine structures that require advanced installation techniques. CMI, an affiliate of Northeast Remsco Construction, Inc., had commissioned a modern website design, in large part to highlight (and provide visual representations of) several recently successfully completed large-scale projects. In order to differentiate themselves from the competition, educate the marketplace, increase organic traffic and get more globally-based leads through their website, the company needed to optimize their online presence in a manner that would present Caldwell Marine in a very positive light, showcase multiple accomplishments and highlight Caldwell Marine’s presence in the global marine construction community.

What CMI required was a skilled website development and design team who shared CMI’s attention-to-detail and focus on quality. In addition, CMI places a great deal of emphasis on customer service and completed projects on time and on budget, therefore, it was imperative to locate a vendor that was equally client-oriented, with a track record of delivering results.

How do you differentiate a leading marine contractor from the pack?

“To any small company or established company looking for a website design with a ‘Fortune 500’ design and layout, I would strongly recommend working with Splendor Design Group.”

Marc A. Dodeman, Caldwell Marine International

Caldewell Marine approached Red Bank-based Splendor Design Group for a complete website redesign. Splendor developed the new custom website with WordPress CMS. Different concepts and ideas were discussed with the client to inform design and UEX enhancements.

A crisp, modern design was used to make it easier for CMI’s customers, partner firms, potential employees and investors to navigate the site for news and events section, photo and video galleries, social sharing links, a contact us form with dropdowns and corporate bios.

According to Marc Dodeman, Director of New Business Development for CMI, “design concepts were explained and articulated very clearly, and working with Adam Taylor and his team at Splendor Design Group made the process very easy,” he continued “most importantly, the team’s responsiveness to ideas and issues is exemplary.”

the results: more organic traffic, more globally-based leads
